A Firm Understanding:  Institutional Sales & Trading

Through our fixed income sales representatives and traders, Duncan-Williams's Capital Markets division offers a full menu of investment grade fixed income securities to institutional investors throughout the world. As the Capital Markets division of Duncan-Williams has grown in the last several years, it has broadened its product lines to become a leading underwriter in the new issue market for U.S. agencies and selected collateralized securities such as CMOs. Our traders make secondary markets in agencies, money markets, municipal bonds, mortgages, and U.S. Treasuries.

Above all else, two things distinguish our efforts in this business. First, our daily goal is to work with customers on the basis of a long-term relationship where service and solid advice guide each transaction. Second, our business model is to use our inventory positions and capital to execute trades on behalf of customers, not for proprietary trading. Customers get the benefit of a diverse array of fixed income securities that turns over rapidly as we distribute bonds. Accordingly, Duncan-Williams manages its securities sales to suit customer interests rather than our trading viewpoint or outlook on the markets.
