Duncan-Williams, Inc.’s Fixed Income Trading Desk actively makes markets in all fixed income products. The focus of the traders is to serve investors by finding value for purchasers and providing liquidity to sellers. The trading desk is an essential resource for underwritings and is responsible for establishing market interest rates that facilitate delivery of a successful bond issuance. Underwriting and secondary market trading accounted for over 100 billion in securities volume during 2008.

The Municipal Trading Department specializes in providing primary and secondary markets in taxable and tax-free securities.  Primarily underwriting competitive and negotiated deals which focus on both bank-qualified and general market issues throughout the United States.

 We provide inventory for both retail and institutional clients from coast to coast.  Our Money Market & Corporate Trading Operation is extensively involved in new issue and secondary reverse convertible offerings, corporate notes, as well as a wide variety of Mutual Funds and Federally Insured Certificates of Deposit. 

Duncan-Williams, Inc.’s Secondary Agency Trading Operation is actively involved in providing markets in callable and non-callable structures across the agency yield curve, as well as new issue and secondary range accrual notes.  The Multi-Family Housing Trading Department, ranked as one of the top five in the country in FNMA DUS trading volume, supports both the origination and distribution of the FNMA DUS product, as well as GNMA Project/Construction Loans and CRA eligible securities.

Duncan-Williams, Inc.’s Taxable Trading also consists of an extensive and experienced Mortgage-Backed Trading Desk, which provides secondary markets in all types of Pass-Through Securities, including generic and seasoned product lines ranging from Balloons to 30-year Mortgages.  The Secondary CMO Desk, with over 15-years of trading experience in all product types, including IOs, POs, PACs, SEQs, and Whole Loan securities, provides active secondary markets for institutional customers.

Our expertise and trading experience in the CMO market allows Duncan-Williams, Inc. to consistently provide excellent execution and market directional trade ideas in all mortgage products.  Broad-based knowledge in Structured Products gives Duncan-Williams, Inc.’s customers the ability to analyze, understand, and value all collateral types, ranging from AAA-rated Asset-Backed Securities to below investment grade structures.
